Can you see it?

Cool. Apart from the darker spot in the top right, it's pretty easy to see. You got a B&W one of this?
it is up there, the artistic one but no processing!
-
Oh I see it. Ya, I think the colored one is easier to see and stay focused on.
So . . . any ideas on how to make these yet?
-
Ah, O.K. Gotcha'. So this isn't raw SketchUp output?
-
Yep, the last jpeg was 1.5 millions+ polys.SU would have drop dead a longway before any output!

One word of caution, don t expect your brain to work in reconstructing the 3d if you are ebriated. The brain part structure responsible for this reconstruction is sleeping.Try again the evening after.
No wonder my sight went almost completely nuts a few years back when I got into these stereogram thingies
Used to mess around with this Katsura software a few years back (Mac OSX only, but there is bound to be loads more out there for Windows too!)
-
But i assure you, this is not stereograms only geometry with eye-brain reconstructing scheme giving back the 3D.A mondial first, first time 2D works is expressing 3D in a credible fashion.

Fresh bake...5 millions polys,16 min. (1920X1080)
This one might tax your 3D vision! -

Not much talk from you guys, those render you speechless?
more like..
you've seen one, you've seen them all.maybe try applying the technique to something more useful than 'wow, that's neat' ?
-
Yes. I would like something like this applied to something else. Any ideas? By the way, the last one is nice.

Usefull like a house,a bycicle,a boat or a cellular phone?Thousand of you are at it daily and i agree with you, more the same!But...i can see the difference between all of these essays, subtility, innovation, beautifull technique and know how and daily,i`m learning a lot.Jeff, what did you do lately that was so usefull? This question about the usefullness implies that the subject should not be on this forum?

hmm.
didn't mean to ruffle your feathers.. i was just answering your query as to why no one was responding to your latest uploads.regarding usefulness on this forum.. i don't think there's any problem that you're posting here. but think about it a bit -- this is a sketchup forum and you're posting non SU stuff.. people have asked multiple times how it's done etc to which you've basically replied "sorry, it's too mathematically complex for you to understand" and left it at that.. that's pretty much shut down any further dialog in the thread dontcha think? unless you're simply seeking praise in which case, i'm pretty sure most people have been rendered speechless.

I think he used SU for at least part of his process. Right?
-
The feathers are fine ,thank you. Point taken! But the purpose of this was to ascertain if any other person was seeing this 3D effect. This was rule as a certainty but with difference depending of the observer. No easy explanation could be given as to how i am doing it.It revolves around meshing, meshing and meshing.Operations that can be very frustating since some of them are not compatible and you end up having a lot of crash or loop.It take o lot of patience and time to get it right.Since it requires others softwares than SU,i was reluctant to get there because i felt it was inappropriate.About understanding, complexity and mathematic,i beleived most of the SU users could do it easy.It is me who is trying to ride that horse a wee bit longer. Now in a few days, i will post edit and remove the jpegs. No praise needed!
Yes, Su is at the basis of all this!
-
Go on then. How do you do it then, and more importantly, how do you do it using SketchUp? We want to know!
Just for your information, my father has a PhD in Topology (not topography!), from Cambridge University, England. I have an understanding of topology too, although somewhat basic. There are many topologists who also use SketchUp! You shouldn't patronise people by telling them that they wouldn't understand the maths involved. Show us the maths! Show us how you do it- and in layman's terms as well- so that everyone can try to understand!

Riding the horse, remember?Nom d une pipe!
-
Yep. If you use SketchUp at all in your process, you can post it here.

Huh?
Nevermind. I got it. Google translate is awesome.
I agree with tfdesign though. Show us your process please.

A new one,artistic(b&w)!
The place is left for more usefull object!
-
This one,i can seem to get it.My eyes are almost focusing it buit it fade away.Tell me if it work for any of you.

Original one without any post processing.

Those two are a recto verso version of the same mesh!
The place is left for more usefull object!
