Component Snapping by Face, Edge, Vertex?

Hey guys
Im trying to find a plugin that will let me Snap my components together by edge face or vertex, Using shift+alt is a pain snapping to wrong faces and stuff.

shift+alt? With what tool? What does that do?
I always just zoom in close, grab the component precisely by a vertex or face, then zoom out to complete the move. It helps to hold Shift to lock the movement along an axes, sometimes completing the movement in 2-3 incremental moves.

Hmm look at that Alt does nothing just shift...but yea its a pain when you got a few more selected when trying to snap them another problem is my components are along way from where i want to snap them most of the time.

Don't be afraid to zoom and orbit alot to get a good view, once you get good at navigating, it'll be a breeze.
If you have to move components a long ways, moving in steps will definitely help...zoom out to where you can see both the start and finish points, click to pick up the component, move approximately, click to set it down, zoom in, pick up component precisely and place it in its final position.

If you don't have to pan you can Zoom and Orbit with the mouse while using the Move tool in one operation.

How would it be different from the native snapping?

If it is a really complex model (with a lot of stuff blocking you) and you need to move quite far, you can also set up a scene for the source component and the target place > grab the component > click on target scene (camera will move there) > place component.
This is quicker than it took me to type.

Don't forget the move tools capability to move to absolute or relative coordinates based on key board inputs. I use it most often for moving to origin by inputting [0,0,0]
