I made two snippets to track down the cause of the issues.

This one let you see how many Command objects you are using. If you install that and type stat into the Ruby Console when you start - what does it report?

If you see the number stat returns increase after you right click on thing you can try to use this to get an idea of what is causing the problems.

Note. I had the problem with ver 7.1. Did not have the problem with Ver 8 until recently. Now, I have the problem every so often. Not sure what is causing it after such a long time of not having this particular problem. Trying to track down what it is I am doing that may be causing this problem again.

I added Fredo Lib 3.4 and, at least for now, that seems to solve the problem.

You need also to upgrade Tools On Surface if you have it installed.

I'm going to give contexmenuoptimizer.rb a try. If that doesn't work I'll yield to desperation and try to get rid of some plugins.

@notareal: I re-read them but did not really understand them enough to try them

If you try one of the scripts I posted you can try to track down which plugins it is..

TT: used your scripts and all now seems to be okay. It was nothing obvious but seems to have been a script left over from my 3D mouse: it kept looking for a central rotation point. It kept repeating it over and over in the ruby console.

Many thanks - sure hope that problem is really gone. Been staying steady at 451/1000.
