Backside Sofa modelling

I want to modell a sofa with a nice old english backside. The one with little "holes" in it.
Like the one's in the picture.Is there a tutorial or plugin for this sort of modelling. I know that i can make a pillow in subdivide and smooth, but i don't know how to make these little holes.

I did a tutorial awhile ago for doing something like that. I used Soap Skin Bubble to make the surfaces between the buttons. That was before Extrude tools, though. I'll dredge up the link for you. It'll give you some ideas.

I don't know. Maybe this will give you some ideas. It isn't exactly the same as what you are thinking about doing but it's close.
