This has probably been asked before, but would just like advice in this particular issue.

I fancy knocking out a quick model for GE of this bridge:

    http://www.scarborough.gov.uk/images/sbro_spa_bridge_05.jpg

It's got great coverage on streetview and plenty of photos. However, the terrain from GE shows the valley floor to be only 9m from the top of the valley whilst the actual bridge has a drop of 23m!

Now what is the best way around this? Build up the terrain by around 14m? at either end, avoiding the buildings, or drop the height of the bridge to 9m? Or a balancing act between the two?

    Thanks.

    P.s. File uploaded for reference.

        Thanks,

Am aware of the criteria, was just after a bit of specific advice really. Not to worry though! May do something else as I'm stuck between Models should not include an excess of constructed terrain and Models should be the correct height.

              Hi Lee,

There is no ideal solution for sure. Building up the terrain where there are nearby buildings always have the risk that those buildings will sink in it (and that's why Google doesn't really want excessive terrains around buildings).

But then it is indeed a high bridge and going for not too much more than a third of the height is certainly weird.

              Gai...

                Hi Gai,

                It's sure a conundrum. πŸ˜„
