Aligning two components quickly
-
How do I quickly align two components. If I want to move one part to align with another part, say have one particular corner of one part align with a particular corner on another part, is there a way to quickly and accurately do this? I hope I explained this well enuf for you to understand what I need. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

It's always important to decide what you want to align with what at the beginning. In your case it is obvious; if you want to align two object at their corners, grab one with the Move tool at its corner (wait till it gives the "clue" with the "Endpont" tooltip). After grabbing it and starting to move (or rotate as a matter of fact), do the same at the endpoint of the other object's corner.
Using the Shift key will lock the move direction. Also using the arrow keys will lock the move tool along the axes (up/down, right, left)

Look at this short tutorial on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzbk8kYSmfE This shows how to snap an object from one point to another point on a different object, without dragging the object to the point. They indicate that you need to hit the arrow key a second time to make it snap, at least on a mac you then need to left click the mouse. This works great when you are moving the piece on multiple axes. I have not seen this referenced anywhere else, but I probably just missed it.
