Anyone attended the SU9 brainstorming session?

I was there. They had about 30 ideas thrown out and then they were prioritized by Level of Applause. Very scientific. I think they have posted the suggestions on the SU BLog. I don't know where that is, maybe someone else does.
A few that got a lot of applause. . .
a. Fix the shadow bug.
b. Multi-core / 64 bit stuff.
c. Improve lay-out for Const. Docs production
d. Lights. . .(I took that to mean lights inside of SU like LightUP) I may be wrong on that one.
E. My personal pet peeve. Parent compoenent visible while editing the nested child but still hide rest of model.
e. Other stuff that I can't remember and I don't have my notes with me.See if you can find the blog.

One of the Googlers had a noise meter and was metering the applause for each item discussed from what I understand. so its ascientific as that can get I guess.

This is posted up on the SCF 3D BaseCamp 2010 Picasa Web Album here:
http://picasaweb.google.com/sketchucation.com/SCF3DBaseCamp2010#It is not the entire list but it is the majority.

well There ya go. . .That's it.
It was fun, but I left the room feeling a little like Charlie Brown and Google/Lucy holding the football.
Seriously tho, I think they'll try and address most/some/a few of these things.

Not pointing my fingers at anyone, so please don't feel offended...
Can't see the shadow bug fix mentioned anywhere in that image - but I also acknowledge what Eric wrote...

Did anybody discuss better UV-mapping tools...??
-
I believe both of those were on the list as well Kim.

Cheers, Eric...

They kept generalizing the 64 bit conversation the entire event - evident by the "Keep making SketchUp Faster", instead of simply putting down - move SU to 64 bit.

Yes, I took that photo, and we were well down the list when it was taken. The size of the font indicated the level of interest that the attendees showed by applauding for the particular item. Shadow bug was discussed in relation to SketchUp 8 top 10 list (which was actually on the other side of the white board shown below), and it was acknowledged that it had not been fixed, but UV-mapping was definitely on the list.
Attached is another photo of the white board that was out in the lobby for people to put their suggestions on, with Aidan introducing. John Bacus took over for the most part, and the person in the other photo is Tyler, who is the Development Dept. head.
I had to zoom in and sharpen to get this, but you can read some.

John Baccus has been pretty clear about 64 bit not being the kind of thing that can help the types of processing that SU does.
But they are always trying to improve the internal code to make things run smoother and faster. 7.1 was a big step forward for many things.

Yes - seems that many people overlook that when they ask for SketchUp performance, many claim there hasn't been improvements. Seems to me that they say that just because SU 7.1 lacked the buzzwords like 64bit and multi-core.
