keep a huge archive of Sketchup plugins yet continue to download them from here when installing just to make sure you have the latest version?

        Not necessarily/always.

I check for updates on plugins I haven't used for a while, and try to keep up with any updates freshly posted, such as Fredos' bezier. Sometimes the updates slip by however. I might be a formidible task but Jims' "Plugins Index" (which should maybe be a sticky) in the plugins forum is a great list of plugins and has current dates on most of them. Maybe the individual authors might take a peek and offer the latest date for their creations?? I tend to check that list often now that I found it.
By the way - thank you Jim, for putting that list, with links, together 👍

I basically have a desktop folder to receive Ruby plugins and scripts in zip or rb format. From there I will copy to the Sketchup Plugins folder.
If it's a zip, I right click> winzip> extract to here. Typically the zipped files will prompt to overwrite prior versions.
So, yes, I watch the posts for updates. And I watch the posts for people needing help, and try to help them when I am able.

I see that I did not fully understand your question, Jim.
The answer is no. I do not completely renew my entire collection. Not to say I will not, if the circumstances require it.

I keep a backup of all my plugins. Then everytime I re-install sketchup, I go through and re-download them ALL and never look through my backup folder. I find it very silly of me.

The Ruby Depot has all the latest versions of most of the plugins (I hope so... 😆 )

Each author can and should edit their own posts if their plugin title needs updated. I don't run the "complete" update as frequently as the "latest" update, but any changes will get picked up within a couple of weeks at the most.

                        Hi
