Beveling Inner Edges

No, use Fredo's Round corner plugin.
Using. Couldn't get Sketchybevel to work, plus this one seems to be much more full featured.
Everything seems simple enough to set up, but damn it takes forever for it to do its thing. It's been sitting on computer for the last couple of minutes now, and doesn't ever seem to want to commit the changes it's supposedly making.
This is alot of effort just for some simple edge bevels.

Note that it needs to make a lot of calculations and create hundreds of faces and this is a plugin so always slower than native SU tools (there is a "bottleneck" plugins can access SU).
You should use some low segment count though for the arcs. The default 12 is way too many for such small details that will never be seen in close-ups.

the attached skp shows a pretty simple non-ruby method.. you don't have to go 'inside' the model when doing it like this..
bevel.skp[i actually had this in video form along with fredo's round edges.. can't seem to embed it any more though.. here's a link]

Jeff, that's pretty damn handy. Thanks. It's kinda what I did to get my slant, cept a helluva lot quicker and easier. Only problem with it is doesn't work on slanted edges.
I think the problem I'm having with the plugin is I'm giving it too much to do (or my computer sucks, whichever). If I just do one or two arc edges, or give it something simple like the outside frame of the door, it finishes it up no time flat. But if I try to do the entire edge loop around one of my frames, even with just two segments, it freezes up and says it's computing for an endless amount of time.
To clarify a little more, what I'm trying to do is this. Just a small rounded bit to smoothen out the rough edge. I could delete everything I've done below and make it flat again, add 2 or 3 offsets, and use the push and scale tools to make some segments manually, but I'm still trying to find an easier way to do it.
Edit: I wonder why I have that invalid floating around midscreen. Hmm...

if you don't mind, could you upload the .skp ?
there might be something wrong with the geometry that's causing the hang.. it's hard to tell from the screenshot.

Sure thing.

No, you just used too many of the embed code. The title of the video is enough:

If you use Firefox, Jim even made a FF plugin called "SCFTube" to easily grab the embed link with a click.

yeah, it's not going to work.. all of those triangles are causing the problem.. if you took the triangles and exaggerated the angles, you'd see how twisted the surfaces are in certain spots.. i'm not positive but the tight corners may be too heavily divided or too small of surfaces for the surface to generate there..
i'm not quite sure how fixable the model is at this point.. i'd personally start over but someone might come up with a better solution than that
[future reference, you can upload .skp files directly to this site using the 'upload attachment' tab at the bottom of the 'post a reply' window.]
with hidden geometry turned on, you can better tell what's going on...
[and actually, the more i look at this, the more areas i can see that are going to cause weirdness.] but hey, it's friday night and i don't think i'm in the best state of mind to explain things.. i'll try again tomorrow if someone else hasn't already cleared it up.

Interesting because it shows to me when I preview my posts.

the rest of that embed code is just for the fancy looking youtube player... see the following post for an example
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=149839#p149839but yeah, even if i try the short version, it still won't work for me.. ?

[that blank space is caused by me copy/pasting the flash tags & source from your post into my reply]
[EDIT
-- ha.. nevermind.. it doesn't show up when i preview the post but it does when i actually submit it ]
[edit2 - went ahead and gave it a fancy pink border
... thinking it's time i get off the internet for the evening!]

right, that's how it used to work for me too.. oh well.
back to matt though.. really, what you're drawing there is possible in sketchup but it's way more involved than a simple chamfer with rounded edges.. the angle of the bevel is constantly changing (at least how you have it drawn.. not sure if you're intending for it to look that way or not).. are you wanting a consistent bevel all the way around or are you aiming for the change in angles?

Hmm. If I'm reading you right, the angle of the bevel should be consistent across each edge loop. I've got a few tight turn spots in there, but there shouldn't be any places where it'll rotate to a different facing or get wider or skinnier. Or at least there shouldn't be.
So yeah, consistent bevels all the way.
