Modern Sculpture Render
-
Hey people!
On the way to a swim meet where my friend was swimming, I saw an interesting sculpture. I planned it out in my head and figured I could do it.
Here is the final render of it:Took me about 20 Minutes (more for rendering and lighting setup)
Also one of my first quality renders how am I doing?
-
I've seen that form before somewhere.
If you want the hoops to be smooth, you can increase the amount of segments of your circles...I often bump up to 100 segments.
-
Wow
I want the hoop segments to be just like how I have them.
Thanks anyways
How is the rendering? -
Rendering is kind of flat, not sure exactly what it is...but I am still learning myself.
I can't see any shadows for one thing. Maybe the angle of the source lighting.
What are you using for rendering?

Taylor
Let me be honest, it's pretty bad actually, firstly a good model will render better, no matter how good you can render if the model is bad the render will never be good.
Start by building a better model with more segments on the rings, then use better textures, your water can be improved as well as the metal rings.
The metal will always look flat if there is nothing for it to reflect, so either use an HDRI or map reflections in your render app, by the way what render app are you using?
So how about it? start with model, post model and we go from there.

Thanks Guys
I am trying to find a texture to use on the rings any recomendations?
I am currently using podium (lite) until I see if its worth getting the full version.I got one of the rings done (I am trying to fix it without restarting) however the others wont let me change the segments
this is what it does: -
You must set the circle segments when you make the circle 120s etc OR before you do anything to it like adding a face and pushpulling it... Once thats done it can be improved, and you must start again from the circle basis...

Okay sorry for taking so long here is the latest render:
