Horrible talent!!!!

You are one the "silent heroes" yourself, you know that? Thanks for sharing, your skills are legendary.

Amazing!
I'm just wondering....why sketchup as final application before rendering? -
Thank you.
@Boofredlay @Box @Pilou (you already commented zbrush render) @majid @shura @tridem (the walls are modeled in SU , @oli
oli is right, I was just testing podium v2b, trying to show the absence of some functions like normal maps support, fake specularity, etc. I rendered the full version in some other render engines already. Lets accept the fact that 'its impossible' to model like this in SU. SU is not made for this, is made for archi sketches. It was a challenge to decimate this 2.5M faces model and import it. Good topology, nice UVs, always helps. -

so he can post it here! lol only kidding
great work michalis, lost for words these days! please post your other tests, verdigris etc they look fantastic.

Thanks modelhead.

Don't lament SU fans there are no applications that would have made this job easy
But I don't, SU remains the faster UI for archi sketching I know, in fact I'm trying to build a workflow from other apps to SU. Some sculpt ruby plugins or some UV ruby editors are interesting but not for this case.
Here some more tests with P v2. I tried to bake specular effects using a second matcap texture in blender. Using normals direction. This created a similar to normal maps effect and here some more details from the original 2.5M faces sculpt. I'm cheating you see.

bloody hell!

dear Michalis
+1 with all previousbookmarked in my "SketchUp remarkable pages". (Even if Su isn't for much to it )

hey oli,
@simon le bon: Thank you. I tried to make this model friendly to SU, that's where SU is. I don't believe in stand alone 3d apps anyway. -
Another one.

FANTASTIC

-
Thanks oli, holmes, KXI
Its this a 3DCoat (basic voxels sculpture and retopo) / zbrush (massive surface detailed sculpture at 2.5M faces) / blender ( baking in multiple textures and 3ds definitions) / Ps (combining textures) / SU (setting a scene) / podium v2 (rendering) project
A clear workflow though, capable to handle many cases.
About art, here is the 2.5M faces result in ZB. A ray tracer shows the truth in the end, this is just a realtime preview. Sculpture is about volumes and shapes, not about some details that people loves to see today... Even so, for this kind of work, a normal maps support is crucial.

really impressive michaliszissiou ....you have a great talent in Zbrush
and the rendering is crazy
congratulations !
-
thanks orgelf.
Your thread is amazing but everytime I visit it, I have to reset my link to the net, I don't know what causes this. That's why I commented it via PM. -
Absolutely beautiful. -
I've seen some of that guy's work in the saatchi gallery, london. Really disturbing stuff! It's truly gone past the point of realism! There was a model of a little man lying down, it looked soooooo real you just have to see it. saatchi gallery is a very strange place! Michalis, DOF on closeup doesn't look right somewhow?
-
3DCoat, zbrush, Blender, Photoshop, SketchUP, Podium!!!
How many tools are you mastering this way dear Michaliszissiou???
(When I labor to explore the potential of SU and can manage two or three little things in Kerkythea )
This is Hyperrealism Hold to the last point where virtual and real world encounter and can probably be reversed!!! Incredible work!A question at least (not a kidding one)
-"Have you ever tried Earth Clay...?"

Thank you Simon.
Slalom ha ha, KXI System avatar animation is more precise though, especially the end@unknownuser said:

Which I don't know how. Never had the time to learn kerky.
oli, dof is unreal here, you're right.
Once, at Pompidou Center, I was sitting and watching an old lady, there was a fire alarm box on the wall behind her, extremely red, I said "this is modern art now". But the art was the lady lol, hyperreal sculpture...
Some strong shapes are my concern, all these details don't add much IMO.
