File*.max to SketchUP workflow?

How to export max file and import it in sketchup? ...
My way doesnt work ...when i export max file to 3ds and import it into sketchup it doesnt work -

What doesn't work?
You get errors? If so, what does it say.
Missing textures? (Ensure the texture files are in the same folder as the .3ds you are importing.) -
MY example ...towel modeled in 3ds max converted to poly (without texture) and exported to 3ds. In sketchup sometimes read it but i can´t explode it and work with it

when you write a post, look down under the textbox - there's an Upload Attachment tab there.
