SketchUp 7 pro for mac toolbars setup???
-
I'm used to working in SketchUp 6 pro for PC. I recently got an Imac and SketchUp 7 Pro, however setting up the toolbars is very different than the previous version. Before I simply went to the View menu and selected the tool that I wanted and positioned them in rows at the top of my screen. SketchUp 7 pro for Mac does not allow the toolbars to be positioned in rows. I must select individual tools from the "customize toolbars" command and place each tool in the menu bar which does not allow for multiple rows. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to set up my toolbars in rows like in SketchUp 6?
Thanks.

At the very top of the view menu there is a sub menu for 'tool palettes'
In there you will find all the "undocked" tool sets. Simply chose which ones you want there and arrange them on screen.

True, sketch up on Mac and PC is very different. But don't worry you'll get use to it.

Why is it that SketchUp on mac does not remember which pugin toolbars were visible and which were hidden in previous session? Some ruby plugin toolbars open every time I open SU even they were closed in previous SU session.
Has this got something to do with how the plugins are written or is this a mac SU issue?
Windows version doesn't seem to have this issue. -
It's how the plugins are written. It's a real simple fix (a line or two of code) but since the vast majority of writers are on pcs, they don't realize they need to add this little snippet for macs. Some people have began including it (fredo for instance) and I've edited a couple of rubys to work right on mac but a couple of them are encrypted so I just deal with it (or keep the script unloaded until I need it for a particular session)
anyway, you might want to ask the writer to include the necessary code. I'm on a phone right now so searching the forum is cumbersome atm but there are threads here that outline what needs to be included.
