I have spent SO many wasted hours in the past with obtaining what I have wanted in way of reflections and shadows in my renders and run so many tests to see if things are right and make changes!

Thinking I was smart in the first method of finding the projection lines I even prepared a quick tut! TUT 1. This required a component I had prepared with the tut though now obviously not needed!

Though then I worked out a way that was so simple I almost cried at how I've been an idiot for SO long! TUT 2. BTW images bought in as PNG wont show in wire frame mode! And remember don't explode images until located if at all! You can still use geometry for the reflections just chose different viewing modes and some layer management all off but windows and background! I've highlighted my window by layer by colour / line by material (yellow).

Cant believe how many hours I will save from now!!

But for the worst still! I worked out the most simple way of getting the shadows of everything else so right so quickly without even any effort! I'll do tut for that and you'll cry too!

That's a good idea. I've always done this on a hit and miss quest myself.
