Nice work Oli. In a similar vein, I've been using the planetarium program, Stellarium, for quite a while. One of its features is that it displays the sky from a realistic ground perspective...by using 360Β° panoramas. There's a whole bunch of them here, which have been submitted by users. They are all either single pngs or a group of 8 that butt together, so can be easily stitched. They all have the sky already removed (so you can see the stars, obviously), so will work fine in SU using its ready made graded sky.

ah I see alan. some have halos around trees though which is a shame. great link though, vast resource. gonna have a play with some now. πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘

The patience you have taken to clip the little holes through the trees really makes a difference

I just used a leaf brush in photoshop with high scatter. no exact science to it really. just quick and dirty! I will make a few more.

good one pete πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘

It's probably best to leave the groups of 8 as separate images and also chop up the single images...because of the havoc wrought by SU's OpenGL on imported images larger tham 1024.
