There isn't any way to get the active section plane, is it?

I knew we could not add one - except hacking it by importing a component with a section cut. But I had thought we could at least find out which ones where active or not.
Another issue that complicates things... I need to determine what is visible on the screen - and to do so I need to know which section planes are active so I can work out which entities are hidden by the cut...

Sidenote - when adding section cuts to inside of a group/component - does the plane turn solid blue when selecting? (or is that just my graphic card..?)

Can one at least find out if the User has Section cuts enabled or not? (not induvidual cuts - but the global setting) I'm looking at the Rendering Options - can't see anything related...
