Error on startup of sketchup on Linux (Ubuntu)

The program did start. It ran to the main menu which offered choices ...1) training videos 2) help center 3) make buildings.

I'm am trying to run it under wine, since I am running Ubuntu Linux.
When I click on either of the offered choices I get an error report window. When I go to the proper file to view the error report I see this information...

Can someone help me figure this out?
I posted this in the Ubuntu forum also, but no help from them. Can someone here help me out?
I was wondering if this is a low memory problem. I have 1 gig of RAM.

What graphic card do you use? I've never had any luck getting ATI card to work. But I keep hearing positive reports with nVidia cards.

My video card is Nvidia...VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G72 [GeForce 7300 SE] (rev a1)

I use winedoors and have had little trouble with sketchup on Ubuntu 64 bit. I never could get it to work right under just regular wine.

Winedoors? Never heard of it. I'll go try to find it and download, etc. It there is any secrets to it, let me know.

What version of Ubuntu are you running?
What version of Wine is installed?

If you have a 64-bit system, be sure to install the ia32 libs using Synaptic.
CORRECTION: WINE should install the ia32 libs for you by default.

Just as an aside, I'd use winetricks over winedoors as the former has been kept up to date...

I installed winedoors and it installed sketchup. But on installation, winedoors froze up.
Now, to install winetricks I went to...

I ran these commands as instructed...
wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
chmod +x winetricks

But that is as far as I got. What do I do from there?

Ok, I ran ./winetricks and winetricks started. It shows a list of possible programs to install. Sketchup is not on the list.
So, what now? Please...

winetricks allows you to install Windows components into the WINE environment in a simple, straightforward manner...
There are a few other programs like Mozilla, but SketchUp isn't there.

What version of Ubuntu and WINE are you running?

Ok, first thing I'd do is do a clean install using 9.10 and start over. There were a LOT of improvements in 9.10 over 9.04 that solved SU compatibility issues... Including video driver updates, etc. Don't do an "upgrade" as it tends to leave some of the old libs and files around, messing things up. Ask me how I know...

Your WINE is the latest I'm aware of. It "should" load the ia32 libs for you by default, but you can always check using Synaptic. You HAVE to have the ia32 libs because even though you're using WINE, it relies on some 32-bit libs to interact with the LINUX environment. About the only thing I've loaded as "extras" in WINE using winetricks were a few fonts and a couple of MS runtime libs.

FWIW, I run Xubuntu 9.10 64-bit with an Intel driver, SU 7.1, Twilight Renderer and SketchyPhysics all under WINE 1.1.39 without any issues at all so I know you should be able to as well...
