Autodesks Showcase is far better in so many respects

Unless you have the computing power you will never see "real-time". We run Opticore and showcase on a 192 core SGI icebox cluster and there is still a slight delay when rotating geometry...but we are rotating 1.5-2gb files with 75 million polys too.
