If you look down the street on a hot day, you can see the heat riseing off the pavement...Or if you look close at a jet engine you can see the same effect...Anybody know the correct name for this..Im looking for a picture to show it but I can't find one because Im asking for the wrong name I guess???

The term Heat Haze, although correct, tends to conjure up a sense of hazy blue distance. You might get better search results with Heat Shimmer.
