ASCII format for .skm?
-
I thought this was answered somewhere, but was not able to find the answer.
Here is posted a zipped file of sketchup materials. The file has the .skm suffix, but is really a plain text file. And when it is copied to the SketchUp Materials folder, it is converted into a folder of materials.
Is the format documented somewhere?
3 1 RAL1000-Gruenbeige,0,8962508,0,0,0.500000,0 RAL1001-Beige,0,8893646,0,0,0.500000,0 RAL1002-Sandgelb,0,7582160,0,0,0.500000,0 RAL1003-Signalgelb,0,44530,0,0,0.500000,0 RAL1004-Goldgelb,0,42980,0,0,0.500000,0 RAL1005-Honiggelb,0,38599,0,0,0.500000,0 -
Are you sure the .skm file is ASCII and not UTF-8/UTF-16?
-
hmm... the .skm is usually a .zip file with other files inside? Maybe this is a legacy version?

I think this refer to a
long integer. See this thread from here for info on that type of representing colour: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=17047&start=195#p202323As for the rest - guess you can work something out why changing some of the numbers and seeing what the result become.
-
Any guesses as to what the numbers mean? The third in the sequence must be the color?
-
Where is this Sketchup Materials folder?
-
The RAL setup is exceptional.
It has a set of .skm files BUT there's also a .txt file with all of the RAL references inside it... -
If you delete the ral folder and place only the text file in the folder, SketchUp will automatically generate the .skm folder. That's what I found interesting, and wanted to build some color libs using the technique.
-
I'm still confused to the location of these folders...
-
It would be a sibling (neighbor?) of the Plugins folder on Windows.
