Here's something to get you started - a table cloth tutorial by Solo: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9342&hilit=table+cloth
Not exactly what you wanted, but some ideas...say have you searched the 3D warehouse and the components forum here? -

Short answer: unless you are selling linens, a box-shaped mattress Bucketed with a cloth and edges softened/smoothed (Ctrl+Eraser).

You can see from any of these that neither need be modelled in full, unkempt detail to look effective.
You can, indeed use the Sandbox tools. Bloat a mesh out with the Smoove tool...just half the pillow. Then duplicate it vertically and stick the two halves together. you may need to do a little manual stitching if the edges have raised from the planar; either that, or pull them back down flat again before duplicating. There are other Ruby scripts you can use...like Soapskin Bubble...but Smoove will do the job.The blanket can just be a box with rounded edges.

Here is a method that I worked out using the Drape Cpoints and triangulate plugin. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=21379&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=drape+cpoints I think the results are pretty good. The good part about this method is that the blanket is separate from the bed, so it could be interchanged or pulled back.
