Vray wont render material through glass.
-
im rendering a scene with lots of glass. for some reason vray wont render some sketchup materials like wood grain through glass. what could be the reason for this?

Can you show us an image? It is difficult to tell what's wrong without.
My guess is that you didn't paint both sides of the glass faces with the glass material.

its actually kınd of a cool effect. here is the scene: were lookıng into a room from a green tinted glass wall. the problematic texture is only on the doors of the storage units. there isnt any emisive materials present in my model. sorry its so dark. there is only one light source behind the camera.
here is the su scene

mmmm....
For a color tinted glass you need to model double glazing for the refraction to work.
Also see to it that the 'affect shadows' is checked in the refraction layer.
What is the light source? Physical sky? -
ok. i just deleted the glass and i still get the green glow. now im totaly lost. it must be some thing to do with my texture. its just a native sketchup texture that i rotaded 90 degrees
my light source is an planar omni behind the scene and a linear light outside as the sun. physıcal camera off and envıronment off...

Hi
You have to apply the glass material to every single face. to the back and front face on each glass panel.Best

it seems to render glass fine if it is closed cube and all the faces are the right way around. ı know if it is a group it refracts the immage kind of funny. does it matter what i have painted on the SU model if i dont paint both sides with vray material?
