Firefox not remembering
-
Ok so downtown had a power outage earlier today. The entire courthouse and surrounding blocks were out for about 20 min. After power was restored I started my machine up and got back to work. Upon looking at this and other forums I had to login to each again. No big deal however now every time I close Firefox I have to log back into any forum I visit. It remembers if I have a session of FF open but as soon as I close FF I am out of luck.
I have the latest version of FF. I am checking the "remember me" boxes and I seem to have the proper settings in FF selected. Nothing other than the power outage has changed. I have restarted my machine a couple times.
Any suggestions?

Did you check if cookies are still allowed? Maybe the configuration was a bit confused.
-
I will check in the morning when I get back to the office. Thanks for the reply.
-
Maybe clear sketchucation cookies if nothing else helps and log in again.
-
Well it is happening with every forum or form I log onto, not just SketchUcation. When I get into the office this morning I think I will clear all the cookies and restart. Hopefully that will do the trick. Maybe our power outage (surge) burned the cookies.

Well no go.
Dang this is getting frustrating. Firefox is remembering my passwords but not logging me in automatically to anything
I tried Internet Explorer and it is functioning properly so it has to be a Firefox setting that is not right.
Grrr. -
I just reinstalled Firefox and the problem is still there. I am going to feel real stupid when I find out the problem I am sure

This happened to me before and i was advised to install 'cCleaner' http://www.ccleaner.com
Analyse with this program and then run cleaner
Restart PC and next thing it worked fine?
Also i disabled plugins for FF and see if that helps?
-
Thanks Rich but that would not have helped. I do have CCleaner.
I have fixed the problem. After reading help logs on Mozilla it turns out to be a couple of corrupt files in the Profile way down deep:
C:\Documents and Settings\eric.LOCAL\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ucobnvhd.defaultThe two that were corrupted were:
cookies.sqlite
cookies.sqlite-journalDelete and restart.
I am glad I found it and I don't feel so embarrassed as it was not a simple setting.

Hm. Should I (no - I WILL) bookmark this post.
Does it really work? -
Works fine now. Evidently this is a common problem. There were a number of topics I found regarding the issue dating back a few years.

I have this exact problem with IE8 but NOT with Firefox. Any ideas?
(Every forum not just Sketchucation.)
