can you paint in photoshop with a texture (instead of a mere colour)? didn't know. how do you do that?
great work. would you mind posting some raw images for comparisson? -
well you can clone textures etc. you can add jitter/variation/movement to your paint brushes tool via brush options.
here is the photoshop screen grab and raw podium render of the helicopter (used same technique for robot)
-
thanks for the raw rendered image.
so you don't know a way to simply asign a 'paint texture' instead of a 'paint colour' to a pen (as opposed to cloning from another image)? cause that would be a very easy way to work, once you have got a tilable texture...by the way: I am still impressew with your 'grass soldier'. the perfect camouflage!
-
Oliver, I thought I'd also play.
I used a Vue painted ecosystem, straight render no post work.
What fun...The Halo organic suit.

Hehe, great Master Turf both, Olishea and Solo, you have some great imagination!
The grass chopper is looking great too, but am I spotting some flowers of solo's gardenpack?Grats,
FoXy ^^ -
yes the flowers are from petes plant pack. glorious collection!
pete may i recommend next time you make a plants pack.......please make a jpeg of each plant and place it in the same folder as the models. no need to open each skp then to see what it is.
just a thought.
-
Sure thing, I had that request from guys using Mac's as for some reason .skp's do not show thumb nails.
-
Haha, I thought so, and yes, awesome collection, bought it somewhere in the first week when it
came out, still had no regret, Pete (if I may call you like that) you've done a great job, and owyeah,
your pack is way to cheap..!If I may for the interested:

Yep you're right, I'm on mac too, and it's a pain, but now the collection is just in my components folder, which is very usefull!

I always run parallels desktop in my mac running XP minimized (with minimal ram usage setting selected and use it like adobe bridge for images) to browse my SU files. I get a handy thumbnail of the model which is helpful as There are so many and sometimes I name them stupid names spur of the moment lol or looking for something I did years ago! and when i find the file I want I just open it with SU on my mac with a right click! Quick and handy and you can see what everything os before you open. I hope in future however that the next version of MAC on SU has this feature.
edit: 'SU on MAC'
-
yeah bit annoying int it. ive started exporting an image of my model and saving it with the skp now.
I dont have vm ware yet so no windows for me, although i've heard windows runs faster on a mac, crazy.
-
whats vm ware? Yeah crazy fast thinking about getting a MAC PRO this year and already put my order in for windows 7.
-
You can run windows through vm ware. Most people I know with macs use this instead of parallels/boot camp etc.
You don't know how much I want a mac pro. its a vicious machine.
