Materials missing from the Materials Browser

I have a model that is missing some materials from the the Materials browser.

Also the API reports incorrectly at times. If I do Sketchup.active_model.materials.count it returns 39. But when I use

i=0
materials.each { |m| i+=1 }

i then equals to only 36.

I can't post the model publicly. If the Googleheads want to an example then contact me.
