Saving A Workspace
-
Hello,
We are wondering if there is a way to save a workspace in Sketchup. Reason is that we reboot our computers from time to time and we are constantly setting up new users, and we don't want to have to reset all the tools and window sizes in the SketchUp environment. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks,

Nope, there is really no way to do that. But what you can do is set up one machine how you like it, then export your shortcuts from Window > Preferences > Shortcuts and then you can import those same shortcuts onto all other machines.
You could also save all plugins to a network drive, then have each computer load that folder when SU opens (that would require a very simple little script to make that work (well, simple in theory. I don't know what kind of road bumps there might be)). That could also sort of automate the workstation synchronization.

Thank you for the response chris, we were just wondering if it was possible.
Thanks Again,

I exported a section of the registry, which partially helped when setting up users PC's.
If I remember on Monday, I'll have a look at the section exported.UPdate:
The section I exported is;-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp7\PreferencesIt doesn't help with toolbars, but will set up the template & image editor.
I use it together with the Preferences.dat file. -
you can save single workspace, but can't save multiple workspace..
