Set standard segments in a arc or circle
-
I use sketchup for modelling electronic casings. The sketchup drawings are then printed with a dimension 3d printer as a prototype.
Mostly i use round corners but 8 segments is too blocky. A nice feature would to configure the amounts of segments. -
As soon as you click the icon Circle or Arc Circle, before drawing type on the numeric key board numbers of segments wished

After you defined the segment count for a circle or arc (or actually, also a polygon), SU will "remember" and "stick" to it in that session (until you change it again, of course). So it's not as bad as it looks first (although setting the default segment number in the Preferences or Model info would even be better).
-
To specify 12 segments type "12s". (If you just type "12", SU thinks that's the radius.)
-
Even when I first set the segments up to what I want, importing a cad file always comes in at the lower default...this I would love to change!

You know...after logging off and setting down to dinner it hit me that there must be a ruby for this. Thanks Frenchy!
