Help with space navigator

ok got it running but DAMN. how do you use this thing....? it's all over the place!
can anyone recommend some settings or something to tame this thing? I move forward...and bank right. wait no go back....what I did'nt want to go upwards!!! etc. I'm not wildly pushing at it.. I'm making slow movements but it's doing what it wants anyway...

Try "Disable Rolling"

Have you ever learnt to fly (a plane)?
Have you ever tried it drunk or high?Now that's what it's like first. Exactly; you're all over the place.

turning off the Roll did the trick thanks..
and yes I do fly planes (Sturmovik, Combat Flight Sim etc) and I've never been that far outta control lol
well.. unless I try and fly drunk.....

I think speed vs. size of model is very important. For large models bring down space navigators speed (most of the time I have it on the 3rd or 4th tick).
Oh, and my first klick after opening sketchup is on Camera Mode. Flying around is 100x easier for me this way.Like MuseumMaker said, you'll never ever want to model without it once you get used to it.
