Need help with rotate tool
-
This is the only tool I haven't mastered. I really have a problem with it.
Trying to get something back to normal view. I can get it to go araoun and around,
but my problem is to lean it at an angle. Now if I look at it from the top view all I see
i a blue line my comp is not facing me. Can some one help me out. Looked at all the videos
on the neet on skeychup rotate tool. Still can't figure it out. I can get it to go up and down,
right to left, but in the 3rd direction no way......I have included the file that i'm trying to fix.

No way to do it instead of you so try to do this:
- select the entity you want to rotate (best to group it first)
- select the rotate tool and left click on a point that would be on the axis of rotation
IMPORTANT - DON'T RELEASE THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON - but now (with the left mouse button still pressed) start dragging your cursor along a desired direction (this will be your axis of rotation)
- when you are happy with the axis that you have just established, you can finally RELEASE THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON.
(the rotate tool will get "stuck" in this position) - now pick a point and rotate...

Easier said then done, realy hate this tool......
I'll redraw it it will be faster. Beleive I'm not playing with the rotatio tool
again. If only thier was a video that was made for begginners....Ty for info....

You really must learn this very simple trick otherwise you'll always have problems with it. If you give it up at the beginning, what will you do later?

Hi Navop, hi folks.
Dont confuse the Rotate Tool and the Protractor that is used to measure angles and add guides at an angle.
Just ideas.
