Sketchup stoped working when i import another sketchup file
-
Have you purged your files before you try to merge them?
-
sorry i am not a profissional on sketch up, what u mean by purged my files ? and how i do it ?
i just draw them and now i need to merge them, they are big because i am using 8 MP pics in the model. -
after it stopped working it give me a msg " Please verify that there is enough space in your TEMP folder "
and my temp is nearly empty ! -
You can purge all unused elements (textures, layers, components...) by going to Window > Model info > Statistics and press the "Purge" button at the bottom..

8Mb (file size) images you mean? It may be your video card's memory which cannot cope with this. To tell the truth,it is insane to use such large files in SU, you will need to compress them to be able to work. In addition, all these 3 files together would be way over 200 Mb which is very large (and your computer is not that very strong for this).

thx for ur time
i did the prug for the 3 files but it not helped.
and yes i meant 8 Mb size images, its so difficult after this hard work to change the images in the model to another smaller in size, and yes the file will be 230-240 Mb .
what the computer hardware which can work with about 250 Mb file ?
tell me plz if there any other solution, -
When you are in SketchUp, right click on a face with such a really big image file applied to > go to Texture > select "Edit texture image" and (if you have set up an image editor in your preferences) it will be launched in your image editor. Here you can resize, compress and all > Save and it will be automatically reloaded in your model.
No need to re-apply the textures.
With such a file size and such big textures, every computer would suffer.

It's best to resize images you use in SU, they will slow down you model very quickly. While SU will save the textures in their original size, SU will display textures as max 1024x1024 (or 2048x2048 if you have large textures enabled).
btw, 8MB, pictures in what format? compressed or uncompressed file format?
-
You're sure that your hard drive has at least 500mb of free space on it?

"SU" = "SketchUp" (just abbreviating).

Like I also suggested - and you resized (a bit). You can also resize the resolution. I can imagine that these image files have some thousands of pixels side wise. Note that SU won't display better resolution than 1024 pixels (or 2048 pixels if "Use large texture" is set in preferences) anyway so any image bigger than that is useless but taxing your system.
