Does anyone know where I could get hold of a map for a planted roof?

I have tried applying a grass texture but really need something with some variety to make the roof more realistic or at least contrast with the grass adjacent.

      Manythanks

      Andrew

If you go here: http://www.cgtextures.com/ then go nature->grass theres quite a few good textures. If you want something really good id suggest getting a few textures from there then combining them in photoshop.

Andrew are you planning to render or straight SU ouput?

Remus - that's a superb site. The 'groundplants' are great. It would be better to spend some time with Photoshop but I have not created a repeating texture before.

Solo - I'll be outputting from SU. I have a friend who uses Max but SU should be fine for my purposes.

Andrew, if you want to photoshop-up your SU image a bit, I do a simple process for making your roof look grassy, unfortunately I can't paste the results here as my only example is a commercial image but if you are interested let me know and I'll post a quick tut.

I would certainly be interested in a tutorial. I'm working on a project with greenroofs as well.
