Different styles to different components / layers
-
In one SU file / drawing I would like to be able to apply different styles to different components or levels. Is this possible? I.e. apply different styles to different components in one model / file. I want to be able to make some areas of my models more sketchy / NPR and others more realistic so as to show what is a work in progress / more conceptual or more developed.
If this cannot currently be done in SU do you think it will be added later as a new function? Or do you suggest I learn a rendering program or use some other method to achieve the desired or similar result.
Any advice much appreciated. Justin
P.S. I like these type of results with mixture of line drawing and rendered output. SU, podium and PS?;

Yup, this is (currently) only possible with PostProcesing (like overlays in PS or such). Not in SU. You can have different styles in a model/file BUT not on the same scene (i.e. they cannot be displayed at the same time; either this or that style only).

Maybe that link could help you in some way...

Thanks for the posts and feedback.
Looking around other forums and posts and yes I guess its not doable in SU and has to be hand rendered externally. I wonder how difficult it would be to add to the software. If you can change the style on everything in one file should it not be easy for the software to style a individual component and have different components with different styles within one file? Would certain save a lot of time.
Thanks
