Thanks very much for the styles.
Can anyone advise the best way of exporting to image files? I've not had much luck exporting other pencil styles at a high res - and screen grabs just don't print well at a decent size.
Any advise would be appreciated. -
JGA, the sketchy lines will get thnner as you export at higher resolution. Just the nature of the beast I'm afraid. To get image exports that look close to what you see on the screen, export at screen resolution. There's a box you can check for that in the Options dialog.
The raster images of the sketchy lines are fixed in width. A 32 pixel wide line is certainly going to appear thinner in a 3000 pixel wide export as compared to a 1500 pixel wide export.

Dave,
Thanks for the reply.
Perhaps larger line scans be substituted for printing, so you have one style for working on screen, then another which looks very fat on the monitor, but can print out at a decent resolution? -
You might be able to do that. You could set the Style Builder template for fatter lines and that might give you what you need.
I've been working on a line style for a client who wants high res images. The style looks pretty awful at screen resolution but is fine with the higher res exports. There's no need for screen res exports with this style and I'd be the only one looking at the model in SketchUp so I work in a normal, non-sketchy style and apply the line style just before export.

Ok, I'll give it a go.

how do you actually add styles to sketchup from style builder?..
-
Jason,
Once you've got your line style made in Style Builder, you simply save it. It'll save as a .STYLE file. Put it in a folder in the Styles folder under SketchUp and you should find it when you open SketchUp.
