Recover files from a quick format
-
I just updated by Windows7 beta to Windows 7 RC. Just I just realised I forgot to backup my plugins. All though, I had set up the backup system. But it doesn't seem that it has taken backup of the plugins folder.
The problem is that I had some plugins I was working on; most imortantly; Double Cut, which I was getting very close to completion.
So is there some software that can look for file remains on a formatted harddrive? I think it was a quickformat that was performed by the Windows Installer, so I think there's a chance it's still there unless it's been overritten.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I found that it had taken two types of backup, one complete and one of just documents. I found a .vhd file when I investigated the folders where the backups where located. I couldn't find a native way to access them, but using WinImage I managed to restore my plugins!

pheeew!

Pheeew, indeed.
I've been keeping an eye on the news about this plugin (I'd give a damn on your other losses anyway

hehe

I think I only have one scenario I need to catch now, when things are made unique. Then there's some pesky bug-splats that haunts it. I had hoped to get rid of those before I go into public beta, but should it prove difficult I'll release it as an alpha to get some feedback from other ruby developers.

I think this has been one of your best ideas for a while. At least you'll have it safely backed up here as an attachment.

Hehe yea. After yesterday's incident, there's a few more backups of my scripts now.
