Got any particular building in mind? I could see if I have any references lying around which I could scan in.
That would be great, I want to make the Pseudopolis Yard.

Just wanted to say you've created a great model! Modelling Ankh-Morpork architecture from scratch is tricky since everyone's got their own idea of how things look, but with source material that's not a problem. Who was it that was modelling the entire city from the map?

I kicked me starting with this model. Got me thinking modelling Discworld would be fun.I originally thought I'd model houses for that model, but I get all too quickly caught up with details. So I expect I'll be running a parallel project with more detailed scenes.
It would be very interesting to see the different interpretations of various things. However, in my case, I've seen so much of the extra art material to the Discworld that my image of it has been affected by that. Which is why I base it on existing illustration of the people that's worked with Terry. For what's not being illustrated before, I'll just make stuff up, but I'd still like to pay attentions to descriptions from the book if there are any.
I really wonder how the big tower will be modelled. Or even the University, seeing how it changes structure.

Here, I've made a start on the Pseudopolis Yard. How is it looking in relation to your resorces?
I'm modelling it from a pic of a plaster model that I found on the internet.

According to Paul Kidby:
-
Good resource!
Similar but different. I might have to start again then. -
About time I check in with the current status; considering it's a WIP thread.
Doing some texture tests as well as experimenting with V-Ray setup to pick all the small details.
Next I'll tweak some of the building details before I start applying all the textures. If anyone got some good resources for roof that would fit I'll love to hear. I don't want the copper like thing it has now.
(Should I add this to the original post, to keep it all collected in one place?=

Wow Thomas, that is beautiful work. Keep it up.
-
WOW, now that I've seen yours updated, I might finshing off the rest of mine.
Sitting them beside each other, they look like they are meant to be in the same town so I think that's a good thing.Do you have any more resource for the Pseudopolis Yard?
-
Fantastic Thomas..looks very good..

Afraid not.
Though, I'm reading Guards Guards atm taking notes of any visual description of the city. And afterwards I'm reading Men at Arms.

I'm nearly finished THUD!, the last in the night watch seriesAh yea! THUD! Nearly forgot about that one. How many night watch books are there? Three?
-
btw, have you played Thud? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thud_(game

-
Was Feet of Clay a nightwatch book? Wasn't that the one with the golems?
-
yup tis the one where the Watch are investigating a murder by a Golem
from Wiki (explains it better than I can lol)

Feet of Clay is the nineteenth Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett, published in 1996. The story follows the members of The Watch, as they attempt to solve murders apparently committed by a golem, as well as the unusual poisoning of the Patrician.
-
Ah yea. I remember now.
Thanks for that list. I'll make sure to go through all of them as "research" for this model. (I've read them all before, but I need to jog my memory. ) -
That is just superb.
