      Thanks for the fast replay.
But if I use (-179..+180) for the Thorax in example it will bend only for about 20°

Is there a problem in the dimension or something else wrong?

Chances are the parts are in a position where they physically can't move very far. play around reshaping them and changing collision geometry and it might work

better yet, post the model. I'll have a look.
Sgt.J., if the joints have no-collide for connected objects (like normally), that probably is not be the problem.

Uh, BTM... click the picture. Anyway, it may have something to do with the fact you've tripled up the servos. Joints aren't meant to be used that way, so in this case, the movement of each servo is partially prevented by the other two.

looking at the model picture the limbs are moving around a small ball which means collision geom of the pieces either side of the ball may be colliding. no-collide would then make no difference to the limbs freedom of movement

wacov is right. (about both things 😉 ) if you put a vertical and horizontal hinge/servo/motor on an object, it has to follow but those joints, so one keeps the other from moving. the only way around is to make a servo affect a no collision object, then another, and attach the first and 3rd servos to the body and arm (if you can understand what I'm trying to say 😕 . I''m bad at explaining things like this)

                    Ok

                    Now I understand.
You have to connect always only one servo to a group and assign them to an invisible object.
So you can made a joint with 3 axes.

For all parts I selected "Ignore" so there should no collision.

Jackson, get SP3. I don't know why everyone is downloading SP2, but 3 has been out for a while now has has a bunch of useful features... like the noCollision state. Objects will move normally, but they can't collide with anything. Links are at:

Every newbie goes to the sketchyphysics home page and SP3 is not in the download section,. Naturally they download the highest version showing which is sp2.

I thought the SP3 is still in the beta phase? 😐

And thanks for the link to the SketchyPhysicsWiki I didn't know them
