Nice Hugo, what app did you use to render?

I went the easy way 😕 Hypershot 😄
Tried it in Vray, but for some reason it rendered with artifacts

here are my few maxwell versions... orchids from FormFonts and vase is a free one from TurboSquid.. just did the lighting setup, added the glass material to the vase, and some sss to the petals...

changed the lighting slightly in each, with multilight... think the last is best... cooked for an hour on low priority, still noisy, but...

I modeled this very unpractical glass, the liquid, ice cubes and the umbrella in sketchup, then imported into Max and rendered in Vray. In hindsight I should've done more target lighting and not relied on the hdri for reflections. I'm going try again tomorrow.

There are a lot of fantastic images here. It's making me want to keep trying. So I did another one with Sketchup and Kerkythea. Again, there's some post-production done - cropping, levels, a little bit of glow.

I find that I'm having a little trouble modeling the tops of the glasses right. They look too wide. Does anyone have any advice on that front?

here go mine, actuly this is a little old study, but i'm so busy, and i'd like so mutch to participate, here we go.
Sketchup model, i just used other software to map the glossiness map, sketchup could not do it, and make the ice to add the noise on it, sketchup could do it but would take too mutch time. Rendered in vray for sketchup.
                          cheers

Thanks for the kind comments 😳

                                        My materials are :
Glass : ref. "G1" from the Basic Glasses library (Donwload section of KT's forum)
Water : ref. "H5" from the same library
For them 2, the material type is Dielectric / Glass, reflection & refraction set to color/Pure white, and IoR resp. 1.52 and 1.33

                                        Whiskey :
Material type : Dielectric / Glass
Refraction : RGB values set to (242,153,61) and IoR 1.359
Reflection : copy/paste the refraction color and set the saturation to 20

The stirrer is a basic plastic, not too glossy (shininess 30 and IoR 1.60)

The scene is illuminated by two emitting umbrellas on each side of the camera, one little emitting square to generate caustics, and a global for more reflections on the glasses.

Now that I have my technical settings, I'll try to make a real scene like those I could see above (Connor, Ande, Andre...) with nicer glasses !

If so why has no one commented on it. I think it is by far the most convencing.
