        Now this would be an awesome thing to have with Z-brush, imagine being able to sculp a face using your hands, almost like having real clay inbetween your fingers.

          Wow..that would be awesome. Are you also saying you would be able to guide us to make the multitouch tables as well.

              thanks community πŸ˜„

              @sepo , i'll be happy to help you in making one for yourself. The process is not very difficult , you just have to be ready to try your hand it a bit of caperentering , soldering stuff and modding cameras- believe me that is very easy. If making multitouch tables interest you, then i'll be more than happy to help you out in the same, PM me, i'll give you my chat id, skype .

              @solo
              we've tried our multitouch table with Zbrush with single touch. it worked amazingly well. However porting the same to multitouch ( so as to let it zoom-in, scale etc by gestures would be a ready cool idea. the Multitouch community on the internet is really looking forward to it.
              My Multitouch system detects touchpoints in form of TUIO data that is transmitted via UDP on port 3000, a TUIO receiver plugin would be required for the zbrush, that's it. If you know how to write plugins for that, let's start πŸ˜„

              @burkhard

              thanks for the tutorial link I'll start following it right away πŸ˜„ and keep the community abreast of my development.

              this video shows a basic idea on how multitouch would look like while doing the CAD stuff, however i doubt that this video's really Multitouch since the guy's only using one touch input at time.. porting the same to MUltitouch is my aim β˜€

                anirudh, that is absolute fantastic news.
                a properly working multitouch 3D modelling application would bring the design process to the next level. so what is the best way to define whether input is for camera control or for drawing? will you have to use a certain number of fingers to rotate/pan? or is it perhaps possible to distinguish between finger-input and pen-input? like that one could use a pen for drawing and hands for moving around (very much like drawing on paper).

                right-click mouse button could be substituted by click and holding down your middle-finger and then clicking your index-finger beside it (read this idea somewhere; I think they do it like that with Windows 7).

                when I watched your youtube-link where the guy is modelling with a touch display, he always had to reach for the tool bar in the bottom left corner of the screen to change tools. I think it would be great if you introduced a more dynamic way to select a tool - for example by displaying a set of buttons around your hand, when click-holding with your ring-, middle- and index-finger in short succession (a bit like drumming with your fingers on a table top when you are bored). don't go hunting for the tools. make them come to you πŸ˜‰

                and please keep us posted about your progress - what you intend to do sounds absolutely stunning!!!
