Have a look at the vid. Been playing around some more with LightUp 1.3

Keep an eye on the chrome chair frames and the glass in the doors.

Amazing thing is, this is being captured in REAL TIME. I'm just orbiting & dollying with the mouse. LU and my graphics card (a lowly GeForce 7300 in this case) are doing the rest.

      Cheers,

      Tim

        Looks great Tim!
I haven't found the time yet to get into 1.3 but I am definitely going to.
For Real Time this looks great.

          Hi Tim,

That's actually cool. How's image and especially animation export goes with it? Also is there any chance to "bake" this into the model somehow so as to export it into some real time walkthrough apps like Walkabout for instance?

          Gai...

            Cheers, both --

Yes, exporting of baked models is supported, but I haven't had much success with it yet. Don't know what the problem is.

Animation export of your SU scene animations is also supported, although there's a bug in both Mac & Win. versions that stops scenes playing while recording. An update will fix this in the next week, hopefully.

My solution is just to play the LightUp-ed scene animation (they play really smoothly) and just record using a screen capture utility. Problem there is, your antialiasing is dependent on your graphics card. LU's own anims are exported with full antialiasing.

BTW, it's fully multi-core aware. Om my 8-core Mac Pro, that scene calculated in 4min 30 sec. with seven lightsources. After that it's real time!!!

Edit -- Gaieus Walkabout looks interesting...

            Cheers,

            Tim

Yup - imagine to have baked images in it and export a walkabout in real 3D VR!

(Maybe in a year or so...)
