Increasing field of view
-
Wise SKUP users...
Is there a way to control the filed of view? I want to look this way and then 'cheat' to open up the field of view a bit. Is there a way to do this?
Is this based on a 60deg cone of vision? I want to see 90deg, lets say....
Thanks -
Select Zoom. You'll see it says 60 degrees or whatever at the bottom right of the screen, you can type into this box and increase the field of view, or hold down shift and move your mouse backwards or forwards to adjust the field of view.

Click the magnifying glass then shift+ left click / drag
not sure if you are on a mac

Its good to note that there are 2 different ways to change the FOV and each has a different outcome.
The two listed above are essentially the same method - using the zoom tool.
The other method is to go to Camera>Field of View. It activates the magnifying glass, but it is NOT the zoom tool. It changes the FOV also, but does it differently than the zoom tool.
Play with both methods to see the difference of how they work. Sometimes you'll need to adjust it one way, another times you'll need to adjust it another way.

Thanks all of you..I will give it a goo tomorrow...Much appreciated.

cool, Chris. I didn't know about the second method. that is really cool if you have zoomed in to the model exactly where you wanted to and then want to change the camera angle. really nice trick!
(and again: you always learn something new here on the forum

Yeah see?, it totally works differently. I generally prefer the outcome of the FOV tool in the camera menu because it tends to act how I want it to. Its easier to set up smooth scene transitions that way
