Invalid Serial--i've tried everything!
-
hello,
i purchased a student version of su 6 pro & i am unable to authorize it. I've set SU to run as an administrator, i've logged in as an administrator, I've copied & pasted & manually entered the serial number, i opened the program and the tried to do the authorization from there...nothing works! Journeyed.com(where i bought it from) won't help me because they say that they get the serial numbers from google. I can't find a phone number to contact google sketchup tech support, and i sent an email to the help link that apparently i won't get a personal respone for. so.....any suggestions?

You purchased SU6 pro, but SU 7 is the current version. Verify what version you purchased a license for and what version you have downloaded and have actually installed.

i have both 6 & 7 on my computer(they didnt offer v7 pro at the student
rate!), but i've been trying to enter it into v6. It says "sketchup
Pro Eval" at the top...when i downloaded the pro it just upgraded the
existing free version of su 6. could it be because it says [eval] at the top that its not letting it go through? that doesnt make sense though because i manually tried to put it in through help-liscense-authorize too. this is very frustrating!! Are there any phone number for tech support that anyone knows of? -
Maybe try it also in v7? If you are on Vista make sure to start SU as an administrator like you mentioned earlier.
Hmm, the EVAL note means nothing. Its just saying that you have the pro version installed but it is not authorized. If you have version 6, just paste and copy the entire email text into the licensing utility. I remmeber it was super cool and it would search the entire text until it found what it wanted. That might be the key?

Yeah, it was the first time I did so with my final SU 7 license and it's really cool

Does it work like that in 7 too? I only noticed it in 6. Cool!

got it to work!! google emailed me back (really fast too!!) and told me that the license was valid and that it was actually for sketchup pro 7. It was a nice surprise because when i inititally received the download, i was bummed that it was for su pro 6 and not 7. I guess that sometimes things work out for the better!! Thanks everyone for the help!

Ha! I told you you should try it on version 7. My guess was because the software retailer said the number came from Google and I guessed Google would not be giving out v6 licenses. So I thought there was a good chance it was actually for v.7.
Well, glad you got it to work, even if you didn't believe me
