Task manager and sketchup.exe

Can anyone enlighten me why the process is still running when nothing happens since one hour? ( Normaly it is a bit higher, but the record need some memory too. )
No wonder why some models are very slow and unhandy if the half of the progress are needed for nothing

This is a probelm that a few other people have reported. As far as I know, there is no real fix for it. It is not expected behavior though. Most of us do not experience that. The only recommended fix from Google is to restart the computer.

I've seen that as well. Force kill the process.

If you're referring to an orphaned Sketchup.exe process, then I know of a possible cause. Are your running Win XP and do you also have Norton 360 installed? If so and if it's an older version, then it is actually Norton 360 that is causing these orphaned processes (yes, there are more than just Sketchup, it also affects Firefox and others). Symantec was supposed to issue a fix, but I don't know if that actually happened. I gave up on Norton 360 in favor of McAfee on my Win XP machines. That fixed this issue for me.

nnngh... Norton... I gave up on them five years ago. Caused much more problems than any good.

I thought is had something to do with WedDialogs, but I can't remember the specifics. Was it the Instructor window?
