what exactly seems to be the problem? any kind of error? crash? Your post lacks information.
As far as sketchup on Vista, In my experience it installs and runs just as goon on Vista if not better then XP.

        hey sorry about that.

I get the splash and the program loads. As soon as I click on "anything" in the program it crashes. . . 😕

I would suggest a uninstall/Reinstall. If that does not fix it them contact support. Weird.

I am running V7 on a 64bit Vista laptop without issues.

Jack I have this problem too with SU6 and SU7. Vista doesn't seem to like the SU icon.
There are two ways around it that you should try

              1. Open the Windows>Program Files>Google> Sketchup 7 window and also open a window with one of your SU files in it. Drag your SU file over the top of the Sketchup 7 icon. It should open.

              2. Click on an existing Su file, see if it opens.

                linea,

Who would have thunk it! Worked like a charm. It's a small price to pay to get the program going. Thanks.

That bizarre. I've never heard of that before. Glad it works.

As a workaround, I just created a blank SU file and saved it to my DT and deleted the SU Icon. Now when I want to start SU I just click on that file. 😍

Jack if you download object dock (thanks Remus for telling me about this brilliant free thing) you can use the SU icon to open your blank file.

I'm actually glad that you posted this problem as I have had this ever since purchasing SUpro 6. It doesn't seem to affect very many people though. I got Vista within the first few weeks of its release, did you? Maybe there was an early problem that Microsoft quickly corrected. I installed service pack 1 thinking that that might solve it but it didn't. I'm running Vista Home 32bit.

I think it is a known issue: SketchUp won't start on Vista?
