SketchUp Pro 7 on MAC
I have a problem with exporting to dwg (2D). SketchUp does the work
but no file is created. Tryed all AutoCad options and dxf. With SKP
6 the export works fine.????

Hi Oski,
In Window > Preferences > Files you can set the path to your exports. Is the exporter trying to export something along that path (if created) or elsewhere?

Working on MAC so I suppose there is no PATH-settings ?
-
Preferences open from the Sketchup menu on Mac (AFAIK).
-
Hi Gai...
Yes I know. But there is no settings for paths. You can set the export location when exporting.
-
And are you sure you are looking for the file where you create/save it? I know stupid question but I'm a PC users and just stabbing in the dark.
Any Mac users can chime in?
-
Yes I scanned the whole disk. Thank's anyway for trying Gai...

What I guess is that maybe your installation was corrupt. Could you try a reinstall?
-
Done that, no effect

Maybe I have to try to uninstall complete and then reinstall - who knows ...
I have also sent a message to SketchUp support let's see if they have any new suggestions.
I have the version 6 still installed. Hopefully that doesn't cause any problems with the new version. -
They can both run safely along each other.

This morning after the computer had been shut down over the night I was able to export once. After this it stopped working again

Non-English characters tested - No effect.
The problem occurs with all files.
Using standard export settings.
Uninstalled and re-installed and shut down the computer - no effect.
Deleted the plist (com.google.sketchuppro7.plist) - no effect....

PROBLEM SOLVED
Sketchup 7 can't export (DWG/DXF) to folders with non-English characters. Sketchup 6 have no problems with this

-
Dammit. If I knew that I could've filed a decent bug report on it - my problem is that at home I only have an English OS and keyboard so never noticed.
-
It must be a Mac bug - I tried on my XP Home Finnish system, and I was able to export both to the desktop ("Työpöytä") and to a folder named "Hääyöaie"

Yes propably. MAC seems to have some problems with scandinavian characters (öäå...). I have also problems with mail attachments including non-english charracters.
20 nights to x-mas

You Nailed it, this is a known issue on our part about non-English characters handling on the Mac.
We are working on it.
Simone.
