DC - Grid Using Construction lines?
-
I'm wondering if it's possible to create a dynamic grid using construction lines?
Also, is there any way to create dynamic text? It'd be nice to be able to set a label for each grid line. X uses numbers and Y uses Letter.

There is a grid rb on Didier's site: http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/em_geo_page.htm
First I thought you could add labels with the text tool to it to show the co-ordinates dynamically but as tested, that is not the case (and well, this is an expected behaviour of the tet tool really).

But no way to do it with DC? I got some other things I'd like to use construction lines for as well. But I'd much rather use DC as I'm not familiar with ruby.

Ok, I worked it out. I used the Xline ruby and converted the normal lines I had.
Now then, onto making a radial grid.

But it'd still be good if text creation was possible...

I also need some kind of a grid ruby (a kind currently is not available AFAIK) but with dynamic labeling and such.
The only problem is that I should collect my ideas to clearly explain what I want.

Hmmm... a couple of times when I did a Save As with this component the only thing that happened was that the original file was deleted. The new version wasn't saved. Anyone else experienced this?

Hey Thomthom,
DCs can't interact directly with text labels in SU, unfortunately.
Do you have a distinct series of steps that can create the "save as" problem?

It's not been consistent. I'll keep observing it and report back.
