Saying Hello

alright... number 1.
I am dumber than a doornail. I want to raise some structures, how do I type in a dimension for the height of the raise I want? When I start dragging and type in 12 feet, some weird things happened to the cursor, but the raise did not go to the height I wanted
-
Can you attach a screen shot of what your cursor is doing?
Are you using the Push Pull tool to raise the structure?

yes sir, push pull tool.

Are you actually typing in 12 feet or 12' ?
If in fact you are typing the word feet after the number 12 then you are hitting shortcuts for more tools most likely.
Does this help? -

Does this help?AHHH!! soo.. I just use the ' symbol. hmm.. simple enough. it's too bad I can't draw worth crap and thing still seem to look weird, one twelve feet seems to raise out of my structure, one seems to go back inside my building

okay look here.
I tried to rise the left side to 40 feet, I typed in 40' and it barely did anything. How do I turn on grids or rulers to see how big my shapes are? I even tried typing in 400' and nothing happened again.

Why do You want to type in feet? Do You use feet in Ukraine?
-
yes, I use feet. I walk every day on my feet!
but anyways... I just use feet because so many of my online friends are in America. -

Are you moving the area a little bit first? You move it any distance in the direction you want to go, then you type in the exact distance you need.
If you don't move it first how is SU supposed to know which direction to push/pull it?
