Line weight.

Hello, I would like to make a rendering where the countour lines are thin, and not as fat as they are for me now. I have tried to chose different STYLES in the WINDOW meny. Does anyone know how to do it? The model (export 2d graphic) should look very light, and not as now, like made with a thick black felt pen. Help help!!

Hi Per, hi folks.
When in the Styles window, click on the small house to get to the "In Model" styles.
Click on the style you would like to modify or add a new one if you want.
Click on the Edit tab.
Click on the Edges icon (the leftmost one) and uncheck "Profiles". These will now be shown as normal edges. You may keep them but change their thickness.
You can also uncheck edges if you want.
Update the style.
Just ideas.

You can change the line weight to thinner setting in style.
First, select “in model” icon to display current style.
Second, select “Mix” tab and under Select pick Straight Lines from the list.
Third, pick the lightest line drawing with eyedropper, which shows up when you hover the curser over it. It shows “Straight Line 0.1 pix.”
Forth, after selecting, move the eyedropper up to Edge Settings box and select it. You now should have 0.1 pix line on the edges. -
It should also be noted that simply exporting at a higher resolution than the default will result in the appearance of lines being thinner. Try putting your export resolution up to at least 3000px wide - this is available by clicking 'options' when you do 2d export to JPG.

Along similar lines (pardon the pun), is there any way to draw a dashed line? That is typically needed on any architectural plans, especially a remodel.

Decipher mention that you could increase the resolution of an outputed .jpeg image by increasing the the width to 3000px. I don't seem to be able to change the default 1296 setting upwards. Is this feature only available in Sketchup Pro?

Hi Jon,
Uncheck "Use view size" in the export options window (that refers to the actual size displayed on your screen).
Setting resolution used to be a Pro feature in v.5 but since v.6 it is also included into the Free version.
