      Simon,

I have been formulating a full feature request about this (and other aspects about texturing - and it still is not "real" UV mapping request) for days - nice work with the video, I will ake sure to link to this post.

Indeed, wrapping projected material unfortunately works only on "primitives" (raw faces and curved surfaces), not on groups/components.

        Ummmm.....

Have you tried.....(that wont work) 😳

What about.....(that wont work either) 😳

I can't think of another way. The 'select material'option wont select the materials in the components and groups and editing the material is just as labour intensive so... 😳

sorry I couldn't mate, I will keep thinking on it though. πŸ˜„

It is certainly a missing function, especially if our working method is based on converting any element as component in order to manage them (See Aidan Chopra "Modeling Smart" at 3D Basecamp) .

Maybe could we throw a (new) bottle to the sea to our great hard-worker-Ruby-makers!! to fix this missing possibility..

            Simon,

An aside: If your image is of an unpainted model, you seem to have a lot of back (blue) faces visible. If that is so, you had better reverse them before applying materials, especially if you intend to render the model with some external rendering software.

Thanks Toby to try by your way (even if what Gaieus says give us very few chance)

Ansi you are completely right. I always draw in this grey-blue back face, which is taking the light better than white one in order to observe the shapes. But i have forgotten the rendering issue. Thanks for this yellow paper.
