Didier Bur's projection_extension.zip file

OK OK, it seems there is some work for me to update all the scripts for V6.
It's a pity that GSU developers don't care enough about us poor scripters...
(Autolisp for instance doesn't have this problem).
As soon as I get some time to update the projection toolbar it will be done, along with tutos as well.
My to-do-list is growing fast these days -
Dear Didier,
Many thanks for your positive response. I cannot imagine what your 'to-do' list looks like, but I'm glad it isn't mine. Having said that, mine is bad enough.
Kind regards, and merci beaucoup
Bob

Hi Didier,
First of all - many thanks for your scripts - they are indeed fantastic. When I see your name next to a script I know it's going to be useful.
I've downloaded your Projection Extension v6 script and I like the improved toolbar - especially the place construction point option. The interesting thing I've come across is that even though the dialog box says it's in mm, it actually executes in inches - wierd. My model units are mm, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
Anyway - keep up the good work!

Hi Didier, when i place construction points i have to reselect the toolbar icon to place another one. - is this the way it works? (i thought i could keep clicking in the model to draw more points)

yes. I'll see what I can do to change that.

Thank you Master Didier.

Dear Didier,
Do you know of a script that allows the following:
- place cpoint on surface
- select the plugin (call it projected_normal)
- click on cpoint, click on surface
- enter line length in VCB
- plugin draws normal to surface at cpoint and to specified length
I have a feeling that you might have written something like this before.

No, I didn't... until this evening. I've PM'ed you a beta version to be incorporated in the projection pack if of any use.

Hi,
I think this is the most logical place to ask this question, sorry if I'm wrong.
I've tried downloading your projections_V6 plugin/extension from your site at
'http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/em_geo_page.htm'
However there seem to be some files missing from the zip.. The only visible files are
Projection Documentation.pdf
projection.rbHowever, the install PDF mentions a projection_extension.rb and a subfolder with several other files
Is there any chance you could send me the complete version?
Thanks again, its one of the most usefull scripts I've seen.

Regards,hi didier is there any way i could get this betta too, we are getting alot more request to build meshes from point heights and it would be quite a time saver if i could add this z value in Sketchup

Dear Free Agent,
This plugin has been incorporated into the new release of projections (you should have 13 icons). Perhaps it is the number 13, but I cannot get it to work. The standalone plugin that Didier sent me works fine.
I have attached this plugin. Put a point on a surface, select the point and the surface, select the plugin 'Line perpendicular to face' from the drop-down menu, enter the line length, and as Didier might say, Voila!
I am hoping that Didier will not be annoyed by my posting the script.
Regards,
Bob

hi watkins thanx for the quick reply, i tried to tool, wasnt entirly what i wanted (but thanx) in the end i need that construction point to be placed at the top of that line, i need to be able to quickly select construction points and place them at the given height (spot heights)... any thoughts?
-
Dear Free Agent,
I am sure that Didier could modify his script to do exactly as you require. You would need to consider your requirements before sending him a PM. For example, would you like to place N cpoints on a single surface or different surfaces, and then have them projected a given distance along perpendiculars to that/those surface(s). It would also be useful to have the option in the right click context menu.
In the meantime, just add a cpoint to the end of the line and delete the line.

Please precise what command executes in inches instead of your unit ?I meet the issue too When use "P-P selected faces along their normals " and "P-P selected faces randomly" (projection_V6)
It executes in inches instead of MM!!
