That was on the verge of being totally realistic. The animation was much smoother than usual as well, how many fps? The combination of the HDRI and the ease of setting up the scale model look is very effective indeed. How long did it take to render in total, looks pretty long. great job anyway 👍

        Thanks guys.
I rendered the animation in 2 parts. Each part rendered for 9,5 hours, so that would mean about 19 hours in total (on a Mac Pro). Initially @20 fps, but I managed to stretch it to a 30fps animation by using a temporal smoother in Virtual Dub.

nice..that HDRI totally makes it look real...very cool.

how do you export these to render, anyway? sorry if you explained this in a previous thread..

In Sketchup, you open the Fry 'environment' panel and you get to assign a HDR image.
I needed to do some test renders to see how the HDR background would match the model realistically (offset and rotation values). That part was trial and error.Actually the background wasn't a real HDR but a plain 8 bit image used as lighting+background.

To render the animation, I open the 'Fry render settings' panel in Sketchup, click on 'full animation' and hit the render button. Is that what you mean?

I assume that Jason is asking about what application you've used to assemble the video/animation...?!
You already told you've used VirtualDub to assemble the jpeg's Fry is generating, but you also seem to have used a video editor app. to add some effects...
(Going from BW to color etc...)

                    Well - I'm only guessing... 😉 <--- genuine wink

Not exactly what you had in mind, but I did give it a completely different setting in this video:

Just great Kwist. Whats the music from your latest render, the nature scene?

Fantastic once again. Interesting the way you change the shadows during the animation.. is it merely a matter of changing the sun position when creating each new scene tab? And a somewhat off topic, but is it possible to scale the size of the HDRI background or is it only possible to scale the model to suit the HDRI? Thanks for the great animations

could it be possible you include in the setting of this video a view of the sea ? wherever you like it ?
                                      😄)
and including a double pass_through the house ?
                                      thanks

I am afraid positioning a HDR is a bit of trial and error as it is not done WYSIWYG.
But its better than moving your model , as it screws up the views (scene tabs) you already prepared.
